You can opt to continue focusing on your notes while it would look like you’re still looking at the camera. This feature is particularly useful in times when, say, you must look at some materials like a script or a presentation while speaking to your audience in a virtual environment. If you look too far away, the feature also allows for a smooth transition between simulated eyes and your real eyes. This is achieved by estimating and aligning gaze and allows the eyes to retain a natural color while also blinking like normal. As such, NVIDIA Broadcast introduces a new feature in version 1.4 called Eye Contact, which uses the power of AI to make it look like you’re always looking at the camera, even when you’re not. For me, I use OBS for video filters, background removal, audio noise removal, audio equalization, switching video sources, etc., and this allows me to leverage OBS as a source for Camtasia. One of the ways to keep your audience engaged is by maintaining eye-contact. If you are not needing OBS, this is likely an overly-complicated approach to getting webcam data into Camtasia (although, I don't have a better suggestion). If OBS is currently part of your normal toolset and workflow, this is a way to let you use OBS. Keep in mind, all of this happens within the PC's internal network stack (i.e., it's more efficient than actually sending data between two different PCs over the network). The NDI webcam tool is then pulling the webcam data from the network and making it available to Camtasia. In this case, OBS is capturing the camera data directly from the USB camera, then the OBS plug-in is taking the camera data and putting it on the network. You are correct that NDI is a network-based approach to video distribution. I use this approach to leverage a Logi USB camera on the same PC as OBS and Camtasia. If you haven't already and you're running into issues with this, then feel free to let me know here and I can quickly open a ticket for you or you're welcome to click on the "Support" bubble found in the lower right corner of the Community pages.Īdmin edit: user Lee's steps below may also work. If you're not currently covered by a maintenance agreement, then we encourage you to download and try Camtasia 2022's trial to see if it's a good fit for you!įeel free to reach out to me here or if you're running into an issue, please be sure to contact our Support team. Not sure if you're covered under an active maintenance agreement or have access to Camtasia 2022? Head on over to your Account Page and sign in with the account that purchased/registered the software, then check the "My Products" tab- if you're covered under a maintenance agreement then you should see a download link for Camtasia 2022 as well as its software key. That's not all, though, as we've also added a whole host of other features and fixes and you can read up on them in our Version History page (Windows can be found here, Mac can be found here). I just wanted to pop into this thread to give an update on virtual camera utility/support in Camtasia as we've just released Camtasia 2022 and we have added official support for various virtual camera utilities (which is not the case with previous versions of Camtasia)! If you're curious to see what virtual camera utilities Camtasia 2022 officially supports / has been tested with, then feel free to head on over to our compatibility page as we've listed them there.
